I was going to mention her, but as so many of the messages were TOP SECRET, I figured I'd not implicate her in the Hansonitation. teehee!
I skipped out on Scarby the past 2 years, so I've not seen her in a while. if she's still around and i'm not crazy busy or disinterested in faire, I'll resume my carrier pigeon duties. ;)
Crazy girl has actually decided to settle down for a small time and go back to school. She starts college at University of New Orleans in the fall. Oh damn. Another excuse to visit New Orleans.
A friend I played Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) with (he's playing World of Warcraft now) lives in the French Quarter in NO. He's an environmental lawyer, and hella funny.
Right on. See, I can't be arsed to play those other games because I'm still stuck on City of Heroes. I sure do want to get to lvl 50 so I can get me a squid!
I picked up DAOC a little over 2 years ago. Fredrick played it for a year and a half before I'd even look at it. Then I started playing, and was HOOKED.
I did a stint as GM of our guild, and then needed a break... so I played WOW for 6 months... it was fun for a time, but I was dissatisfied. I came back to DAOC and am having more fun than ever. I play a druid and am acknowledge to be damn good at it (who knew!!!), and so am adored. Good on lots of levels. :)
Fredrick played COH for a while, but his friend he played with primarily had some health problems and RL stuff, and cut back his playtime significantly. It sounds like you've already discovered how much more playing WITH friends makes a difference in your enjoyment level, versus plugging away by yourself. He likes the game, but had no one to play with any more... and pick ups don't do it. I think his main was an emp/radiation defender, but I could totally be making that up.
After you get to lvl 50, you can create a character called a Kheldian, which probably isn't supposed to be a squid but they look like them. Purple flying squids. It's awesome.
It's gotten better, too. Way more options for costumes, accessories, and hair, and now you can actually play with the body itself. Want big boobs? Got 'em. Want tiny boobs and a huge butt? There ya go! It rocks.
Yeah, I'm fairly pleased with my toons. My tanker is called "Da Fluffah". She's a tiny thing in a pink bustier with a utility belt and combat boots. Her battle cry is, "I'll get you stiff...WITH RIGOR!" *giggle*

I always thought the character creation process was pretty darn nifty in COH. I'd love to see what you've come up with for your toons!
