A few finishes...

These are a few cross stitch finishes from the last couple of months :)

This is a piece by Trudy Ann designs. I made it for my Grandma and gave it to her for Christmas 07. only took a couple of weeks as it's not very complicated. I didn't ahve a couple of the colours, and also used slightly darker fabric than the original design, so I swapped some colours in there to make them show up better.

This piece has been in my WIP pile for SOOOO long. like, 3 years or something. I was dead enthusastic when I bought it, after it was featured in a magazine. I did most of the cat, then ran out of black thread before I did the tail (this explains why I now have 4 "spare" blacks...). so that lost my spark. eventually did the tail and the border, then took one look at the big roses and went "NAH" and abandoned it. am so pleased I finally did it, not least because the roses weren't actually that hard once I got into it!!! needs to be washed because it has a little dirt around the top and then I have a gorgeous wide dark frame for it.

Finally, this piece I've not had so long. I started it just before christmas, and finished it today WOO! the blackwork side was a little tricky, I'm not the biggest fan of backstitch, but each pattern was simple enough, once I figured it out. and I'm hoping I can iron down that line in her head, I didn't put a piece of material between the stitching and the frame and it's flattened the stitches a bit.

(ps - I know where 2 mistakes are, please don't tell me if you find another, because I WILL insist on pointing it out to everyone who visits)

now to choose my next piece.... erk. I have a few from HAED which I could start, having bought nice shiny new fabrics yesterday (yay for craft fairs!!) or I also bought this chart from Anchor's Maia collection which I'm also quite keen to start (although it totally goes against all my principles because I'm a DMC girl at heart)
