Some things.

It's been a while since I've posted. There's been a lot going on.

1. There are some people I love very much who used to live relatively close to me who now live relatively far away. This is undoubtedly the root cause of some unusual behavior on my part, such as making out with drunk 27-year-old Irish lads in Irish bars. (Okay, it was one Irish lad in one Irish bar, but still. Not so much a common occurrence in ElizabethWorld. I was a bit drunk myself, if that needs to be clarified.)

2. DOCTOR WHO IS THE FUCKING AWESOMEST SHOW ON TELEVISION. There, I said it. I've been holding that back for a really long time. Feels good to get it out there, in all caps and such.

3. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my knee. Which is brilliant considering that I'm not quite 65 years old yet. But it doesn't really bother me on a daily basis. That would be the plantar fasciitis, which hurts like a mofo every single morning.

4. Through every fault of my own, my giant laptop bounced down my stairs, rounded the corner of my staircase, and bounced down three more stairs before coming to rest with the CD/DVD drive hanging out at a bad angle like the girl in my third grade gym class who broke her arm turning a cartwheel. I was able to get the drive tray to slide back into the computer but there is a piece of it sitting on my couch. The rest of the computer appears to be functioning as normal, so that's good. ETA Sunday: The drive still works, both reading and writing, so yay on that.

5. Ozzie and Harriet are back. Ozzie and Harriet are mourning doves who built a nest in the crook of my bathroom casement window a couple of years ago. There was a nest, and then there were two eggs, and then there was a storm, and then there was no nest or eggs, which was completely depressing. Anyway, either they have returned or it's a new Ozzie and Harriet, but they built the nest this week and whoever happens to be sitting on it eyes me warily every time I go into the bathroom. I left for Hershey on Friday and there were no eggs, but I imagine they'll be there by the time I get back tomorrow. In a way it's interesting, having nature happening right there in my window, but it's also stressful because I kind of have to worry about them now. ETA Sunday: There are eggs. It is raining. I am anxious.

So there you go. My summer so far: people moving, macking on foreigners, Doctor Who squee, old people diseases, bouncing laptops, and the circle of life.
