more information please, what OS are you on?
the easiest option would be to have 2 logons, one for full access and one for limited access, put all the stuff that you'd always want access to like mp3's into a shared folder

actually its for personal stuff and combating the efforts of a potential snooping housemate.

go to start -> control panel -> user accounts, set one up should be self explaitary from there on in, just don't forget your password
