Drooling over at the V & A
I can't tell you how excited I am that the Victoria & Albert Museum has so much of it's collection online. I always manage to find something new each time I look. Since the shows are settling down now, I've started digging up more research for the new outfit(s) I want to make for Twelfth Night. And, as always I'm finding more than I was expecting, and little that actually pertains to the project at hand...
I found this knitted early 17th century jacket that made me think of msmcknittington... totally want to try makinging this sometime.
Then there's this skull and crossbones embroidered panel that I really want to make up as a banner now... I mean how cool would that be?!?
Also, an informal silk and linen version of the embroidered early 17th cen. ladies' dressing jackets...
*sigh* They're sooooo pretty, but I'm gonna need to focus if I want to get anything done before Twelfth Night.
