Hi - I hope you don't mind a stranger popping into your lj so quickly, I saw your comment at msmoat's livejournal and just had to come over (that sort of thing happens on lj, I'm afraid...) I guess I really just want to be completely fannish and say that your "Voice Over" is my absolute favourite Prosfic. And I've read a fair amount of Prosfic over the last year! *g* The atmosphere, the lads, the setting, the gentle humour that just jumps out to ambush you when you're enthralled in other sentences - it's all just perfect! Thank you so much for writing it!

Also, I know you say this is mainly for real life ramblings and so on, but would you mind if I friend you, just so I can see those hen's-tooth moments when you have a chance to write more Pros? You needn't feel like you have to friend me back, I try and keep a Pros focus on my lj, but I also do alot of rambling about rl, mostly to do with the fact that I'm an ex-pat living in Alaska. There's often snow involved... And of course feel free to say no altogether... : )

*stops rambling* And I hope this comes out looking like english - for some reason what I'm typing is coming out in very tiny font!

Hello,

I'm delighted to have a stranger popping in so quickly. Especially a stranger who says such lovely things . You're very kind, and I'm so glad you enjoyed 'Voice-Over'. I'd be honoured to have you friend me; I hope you won't object if I return the compliment.

I apologise in advance for the boringness of my real life stuff. I'm a bit one-track minded at the moment (although always with room for Pros), so I'm hoping LJ will help to keep me in touch with the real world (Alaska! That sounds very romantic, but I'm a sucker for snow, so that automatically adds glamour - I hope it's as spectacular as it sounds).

And, talking of atmosphere, it's great to have an opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed (and am very jealous of ) your pirate challenge story. Lovely. I've really liked everything I've read of yours, but that's definitely my favourite. I hope you're writing lots more? I look forward to the Halloween challenge entries to find out.

It's great that people suddenly seem to have started writing Pros again and that there's such good stuff being written. I wish I could join in. Still, maybe one day...

*Terribly* belatedly... a reply! By which you may gather that I completely understand the whole lack of time thing... and I strongly suspect that your rl isn't at all boring, so post away! I mean - sonic hedgehog genes? I love the geekiness of scientists *g* (I'm on the verge of almost-being one myself - well, most likely nearly a geek, but also the scientist thing - so I can say that, right?)

Alaska is pretty spectacular. You really do bump into moose outside your front door (which is less good when, say, you have a plane to catch, cos they can be deadly when they're mean...), and the northern lights are my favourite thing ever (after the lads at the moment), and there is such a thing as the black aurora. And sometimes just seeing the snow takes your breath away. Then again, one of the most Alaskan things about my cabin right now is that there is an old toilet outside one of my windows, so... *g*

I'm so chuffed you liked my pirate fic - whee! Thank you! I've only been writing Pros for about a year, although I was a fan way back when they were first aired, and I think it's so amazing that they've actually inspired me to write at all after about 20 years of vague snippets of original fiction, nothing finished... I wish I'd known about fandom the whole time, it's a lovely place... Anything that inspires people to be creative has to be good, right?

I'm really curious when you say "people have started writing Pros again" - when would you say they weren't? I guess I'm lucky in that it's mostly seemed pretty active since I started following lj, around this time last year, but even in that year there's been various ups and downs... And I wish you could join in too! I shall wish you time and peace and inspiration for it... *g*
