Feedback Friday with a social message. . . almost

I'm a socialist, a pacifist, I eat granola, recycle with anal-retentive vigor, wear 100% cotton, and I'd still be an environmentalist if I hadn't developed allergies from years of unsafe tree hugging.

So, despite the urge to pave paradise and put up a parking lot every spring, my politics are predictable. Free health care, fair trade, peace in our time, eat the rich, zombies were people too and zombie apocalypses aside, strict gun control.

Because guns do kill people. Guns are unsafe at any speed, and are absolutely, positively, 100% not sexy.

Not even a little bit sexy. No sirree bob, not sexy at all.

Oh gods, yes they are!

But I'd still be living in denial, if it wasn't for serenaar's The Guns Affair. This Man from U.N.C.L.E. vid makes the sexiness of guns undeniable whether the firearms are being wielded by or brandished against Robert Vaughn as Solo and David McCallum as Kuryakin. The driving beat of Muse's Supermassive Black Hole makes a surprisingly perfect score for 1960s armed mayhem, and Serenaar does an excellent job juxtaposing the sensuous lyrics to risky and risque clips from the show. Serenaar's love for holster porn shines through as well, and there's no denying that guns are an essential accessory for any white-shirted or black-turtlenecked secret agent.

However, The Guns Affair is much more than a deadly fashion show. This vid highlights many of the delicious little character moments that can easily be overlooked. From Napoleon cavalierly tossing his gun when surrendering it during The Deep Six Affair to Illya losing his weapon to somebody running past him in The Yukon Affair, all of Solo and Kuryakin's extravagant flinches and wry reactions are part of why The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is still cool 40 years later.

What's more, Serenaar has also included amusing and sexy snippets of dialogue from the show throughout the vid. As a result, The Guns Affair is pure entertainment for fans, and a superb means to seduce new people into the fandom.
