worked, for the seventh straight day (filling in as cashier so my coworker could go to her daughter's baptism). leaving work, tired hangover and really confused about the whole manager thing and the padding on my handlebars randomly snaps and starts falling off, so i rip off any remainders. bad idea.

later: leaving darkroom, more tired less hungover and still really confused about the whole manager thing and this guy decides to barrel through a stop sign, so i try to brake but the lever comes off in my hand. luckily i'm able to turn onto the road he's leaving before he hits me. i decide to continue riding home with the lever loosely hanging from the handlebars. very, very bad idea.

riding down shaver and without any obvious provocation the lever falls INTO MY WHEEL and stops my bike, almost sends me flying but i grab my handlebars and lock my knees instead, then slam back into the seat, causing a very painful bruse, and fucking up my bike. the lever is wedged into the wheel so securely that i can not get it out and i can't turn my wheel. i look over the damage:
fucked up cables ($)
fucked up lever ($)
broken spokes ($)
really fucked up wheel ($$$$)
fucked up handlebars, but still usable

carry my bike home, pissed off.

so today i try to get it fixed but citybikes is booked FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS! and this other shop downtown said they could fix it today but when i came back from the bank they looked at me like i was crazy and said that maybe it would be ready by closing time tomorrow- probably ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)
did i mention that i depend on a bike for my job? and that i agreed to a $30/ 1hour labor rate back when they said they could finish it that day?
