Alex, a junior at an exclusive boarding school, uses his journal (neatly hidden inside a copy of Moby Dick) to relate the disturbing events that led to the drowning of a classmate. Hubbard’s literary references, her creation of Alex’s poems and journal entries, and her storytelling skills combine in a story about the code of silence that often compromises the code of honor.

There is more brewing, Morris-wise, although it's too early to spill... and we won't see anything develop until later this year. Still, Some of Us Have Been Talking about spreading the word about the Morris Award, and there are plans afoot to do just that, thanks to ideas from YALSA Past President Sarah Debraski, my brilliant social-media savvy editor Cheryl Klein, and 2010 Morris Finalist Malinda Lo.
