Father hit me once. I was defending Peter because he wanted to send him away to boarding school to 'toughen him up' and I didn't want Peter to go. Didn't want to see Peter change. I liked who he was. I still do, by the way! But father hit me. Of course, I did call him a 'cocksucking arsechief'. So...there might have been provocation there

Just to some all boys academy where you would have surely been bullied. Of course, then you sent yourself away to one, but that was your choice to make. It was after Margaret died. We fought a lot then. He tended to give up before I did.

I know you would have cried which is why I told him he couldn't do it. And he said I was just a kid and I didn't understand and on and on. Wonderful man, hmm?

And I know, Peter, you used to hide in my bed all the time.

it was the boogeyman for me. but really, i was never quite sure about the whole boogeyman thing. i dunno, it just seems like someone tryin' to be dainty about saying "snot monster" and kinda failing...

I'm just thankful I did not hear of this 'snot monster' when I was a kid, considering my germ fear.

ha! i used to set traps for 'im. one time one of 'em actually worked, 'cept it got my dad and not the boogeyman. i was so pissed. i told him if i got et by the boogeyman it was his fault for setting the trap off early. course, i was telling him all this while his head was stuck in a metal bucket...

That is fantastic! I never set traps for the bears, I just hid behind Liz. It never dawned on me that she'd get mauled. She was too scary to be mauled!
