As many of you know I ran for the school board, no I didn't make it but that's okay. There's always next year right? Right. (sarcasm) lol. I worked my son's bookfair all week long, except the day of the hurricane. Yep, that's right it came right over us but don't be worried it just blew, no damage here thankfully. Due to the hurricane the book fair lasted an extra two days, which means I did not finish it out.
You kidding? I had to pick up my man from being dropped off from Iraq. You think I'd be able to do that and stay awake enough to do a bookfair with lots of kids. haha. On monday, same day I picked him up (2:30 am) I hadn't slept the night before because...well honestly because you just can't when you are waiting for so many months for someone to come home safely. You stay up and you wait. You watch the time. You dig out old toothbrushes and wash the floors even after you've already mopped them 5 times. Yep that was me, you'd think I drank a gallon of coffee or something. I couldn't wait.
The kids and I got the call he'd be early. Woo hoo! I called all the people I needed to let them know and then I prepared the kids for the long wait. I knew they would either go back to sleep or be wide awake. Two were the oldest went back to sleep and asked for me to wake him when daddy was coming. He knew better. Which of course he ended up waking up every 15 minutes anyways and then decided he heard someone mention food and wanted some. We got the snacks and waited. And waited. And waited. No it wasn't really that bad but when you are out there time just goes so slllllooooowwwwlllyyy.
As the buses arrived we all ran out to greet our loved ones, we went out for breakfast at an all hours diner as you can imagine not many places are open at that hour. :) Later on kids went to school and for me I wasn't working the bookfair. :)
Anyways time has passed, we've had him home one day past a week and I miss him. He went back to work today, I know many are thinking I couldn't wait for mine to go back but that isn't the case. In a way you become newlyweds again. ;)
Life is extremely busy with both older children in two different things and we are constantly running around. I'm also on a new diet which I will post more on later as well as how school is going. Just bury me with books and dump the red ink on me now. I will explain. ;)
