I know it's been a while since this song was released, but I just read through the comments on the Omona post for it. And to be honest I found the comments to be more disappointing than anything else

I think part of what i honestly don't like about the song, is the singers themselves, which is mean but on some level i can't connect to it, on the level i probably SHOULD because it's a group of people i can't really connect with? idk, it's a shallow statement, but 2ne1 is a group that i honestly just understand, because i liked their earlier music, and then just got turned off almost immediately when the route they ended up taking seemed somewhat the same (and i'm sure you've heard it, autotune, etc.).

WHICH is why i liked Lonely, because it kinda broke out of the stereotype. but what i didn't like about this song, was the blunt start itself and the strong nasal tinge to it just got me really turned off by what could've been a particularly good song, seeing as the lyrics are so strong and empowering. part of what makes people want to listen to it is the start and if the starting itself doesn't make me want to listen to it, i think that's what made people not really look beyond the surface. it might, again, just be me because i listen to tune first and then connect with it, but still.

SO, not my thing? maybe that's why people are kinda disappointed? i was, kind of, because the translation was really nice and it sounded like a good powerful song, that kind of fell flat? to me, at least, haha.

AND HEY GURLLL HOW'VE YOU BEEN? :D i've been dead cause my prelims are going on (and you know, i need to do well, part of being in an asian family pushes you to be an overachiever and what not haha) WE SHOULD TALK AGAIN when i find time after this :P

LOL omg that's horrible but I agree, I didn't like I'm the Best at all, too much auto, not enough tune. And I loved Lonely, and actually Ugly feels like a cross between Lonely and I'm the Best. Like, Lonely's musical style and I'm the Best's message. Well anyway. Really?! I loved the start of this song...I can practically sing it already. But then again I had this song on for like 3 days on repeat so maybe I'm biased. Yeah but tbh I didn't like the lyrics to the chorus either. Too many repetitions of "pretty," which in itself isn't even a powerful word.

I'VE BEEN AWESOME, BACK FROM CANADA AND I REALIZE HOW MUCH I LOVE THE STATES. What are prelims? You're in school already? I don't start school until the end of August...and omg I'm gonna be a senior I'M SO OLD. And you are too, right? lol it's okay, I've been so mia lately.

i'm the best just annoyed me to bits. i got annoyed when they had like 3 promotion songs before as well (during can't nobody times), because i find it redundant if all 3 songs aren't particularly stand-out-ish. like i said, i honestly don't like the route they've been going in, with autotune, so i'm pretty much just skeptical of anything they put out now. SO JUST ME, disappointed with their latest style and such. pretty is not a powerful word at all. it's about the weakest way to describe a person, let's be honest HAHA :P

OH THAT'S GREAT I THOUGHT PEOPLE LOVE CANADA THOUGH! prelims are like the pre-exam, before you go for your board exam. it's kind of just prepping you for the final exam, in terms of time management and the types of questions the school thinks will come out. IT'S HORRIBLE. my brain's gonna explode :P YEAH, the school year here is from january to november (with two 1 week breaks between terms, and a month long break in june, 2month long break from november to december). so, our school's ongoing. my final exam, which is really really important for me to get into a good junior college starts in october (like the end) so, we're preparing for that.

I'M 16 ALREADY WOOHOO. but like doesn't feel like anything. since i'm a senior in SECONDARY school, which is pretty cool. i have like 3 levels of juniors. then next year i'm a junior all over again :P i've been super mia because of studies. i think my parent are pushing me a little bit more to exceed the expectations and do extremely well hahah! so when's school officially starting for you! what classes are you taking~

Yeah, I didn't like how they didn't pay enough attention to one song. I mean, I get that they wanted to show all these different sides to them...but...that's what a career is for, isn't it? 8I;;; I don't mind autotune, as long as it's tasteful and used for special effect or the concept, rather than to mask the fact that they can't sing. Which they can. So I'm alright. Yeah. Pretty is just...a weak word...no excuses for that...

That sounds horrible. An exam before an exam. We don't have anything like that, but I suppose the SATs and APs are just as bad... Whoa! My school year is September (actually, it's the last week of August where I am) to June (last day of May, actually) and the specific dates changed depending on your school and where you are. The farther north the later you start, the later you end. I know, I'm getting ready to apply to college (I suppose you'd call it university. idk, Americans are weird :P) and I feel so olddddd but I'm only 17! And I only just turned 17 last month! I know I know, my parents want me to go to Harvard/Yale/Princeton whatever...
