Post-surgery update
Hi, folx. I'm home, and actually I've been home since the 27th of February, actually. I've just been taking it easy and recovering. My incision had staples holding it together, instead of stitches, and they've come out. Things are healing pretty nicely at this rate. Just got to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity.
I didn't post any updates after the first one from the hospital because, well, frankly, when I wasn't stoned on morphine from the pain, I was pretty cranky. When I could sleep, I'd get woken up by someone for some reason or another; vital signs, meals (which I barely ate), change antibiotics on my IV, and so on. Plus, it was quite a pain, literally.
I'm now in no pain on a day to day basis, unless I do something dumb like bend over. Back to work in about two weeks, so I've just been enjoying my (unpaid) vacation from work. Much less stressful. I'm losing weight, too, on purpose, and this is a good thing. I'm 15 pounds lighter than I was when I went in, and I'm working to get it to go down further. Here's hoping.
