[Posting this to my personal journal as a test.] [But read it!] [It's interesting!]

Well, everyone - our Kickstarter campaign was wildly successful, and we at Aeronaut Productions are hard at work putting the finishing touches on Steampunk: History Beyond Imagination. [See my original post here.]

If this is the first you've heard of this endeavour, read on for more information:

Opening Oct. 15, 2011 at the Muzeo in Anaheim, CA, Steampunk: History Beyond Imagination will explore the origins, personalities, and lasting effects of the steampunk aesthetic - a Neo-Victorian movement inspired by a fancifully re-imagined Age of Steam, through a collection of artifacts, replicas and informational displays.

The exhibit will introduce visitors to an era in which science and industry combined in new and interesting ways to launch mankind into the future - to become a world where ordinary human beings could do the impossible. Displays will compare the fantastical worlds and concepts of Victorian ‘scientific romance’ to the wondrous realities created by the inventors and scientists of the time. The work of historical pioneers such as Charles Babbage, Ada Lovelace and Nikola Tesla will be highlighted alongside the visionary fiction of H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.

Some of these galleries will not only enlighten visitors on the connections between science and imagination, but will also allow visitors to explore questions about history in creative interactive exhibits.

Some of our artifacts include:
• Original props and concept art
• Vintage books, comics and fashion
• Steampunk-themed art, sculpture, jewelry, fashion, photography and inventions

After its full run in Anaheim, Steampunk: History Beyond Imagination will likely travel to other locations in the United States.

The official opening day for Steampunk: History Beyond Imagination is Sunday, October 23rd. We’ve heard rumors of some of the local groups coordinating costumed outings to the museum - we think it would be splendid to see you all in your steampunk finery on opening day!

The official media day will be Friday, October 21st. For more information, contact info@aeronautproductions.com.

The exhibit is currently set to run for three months, so even if you can't make it to opening weekend, we hope you'll come visit some other time during the season.

We have been truly touched by the outpouring of support for this project, and we look forward to seeing you at the Muzeo!
