Are you going to DragonCon this year? Is that your Atlanta event? I had a lot of fun last year, but I think it's too big an event for me. I'm not going this year, perhaps next...

Yep, Dragon! I've never been - but I'm sure it won't seem too big for me after Comic Con. :)

Aw. That's a sweet thing to say. :) It was the closet reorganizing, wasn't it?

Check out Mr Sebastian and the Negro Magician by Daniel Wallace (same guy who wrote the book Big Fish was adapted from).

Hmm. That looks intriguing, and I did like Big Fish! I'll put it on the list. :)

In the whole magical realism thing, you might like Alice Borchardt's Legends of the Wolves series (she was Anne Rice's sister even). The stories follow shapeshifters (werewolves, but not in the usual sense) through out a bunch of ancient history including Rome and the time of Guinevere.

Also, I saw you at Maker Faire but was laying down for a nap and didn't feel like shouting at the time.

I'm all about history and shapeshifters; I'll check it out.

I had the exact same thing happen to me at Maker Faire! My friends and I were napping on the grass by the Neverwas Haul, and I saw somebody I would have liked to say hello to, but - too exhausted and mellow to get up. :)

"I like carnival sideshows, gypsies, magical realism, Victoriana, medical oddities, destiny, truth, metafiction, great descriptions.* A very tiny sampling of some of my favorite books would include Good Omens, The Witches Of Eastwick, The Beach, Wuthering Heights, The Little Prince, Dangerous Angels, The Mists Of Avalon, and Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches trilogy"

I'm sometimes amazed that we haven't dated.
I could recommend my entire library to you, and 95% would probably be on target.

And yet, I find it surprisingly easy to believe. :P

Well? Recommend me some books, then, sir!
