And just like that I haven't posted here in 24 days. How on Earth did that happen? I'll tell you how it happened. It was fucking Twitter, is what happened. For shame. Fucking Twitter, as it will always be called in my brain even though I've been sucked in and am addicted to it now same as anyone. And a certain amount of laziness and writer's block ( Read more... )

Aren't Facebook status updates as good as Twitter?

Hey! I hadn't noticed YTLM, before!

I don't go over to Facebook anymore. It feels redundant.

What's YTLM?

You can set it up so that your Twitter updates also go to your Facebook. That's what I do, as I have mostly two separate groups of friends on the two services (with a little overlap).

I honestly don't get Twitter. You have a bajillion followers who read about your every bodily function. They eat it up. Yet nothing said on Twitter has any substance. It's all one liners like "I got up this morning, YAY". Seriously, I've read the things. I'd say 99 out of 100 Twitters are like that. The one Twitter with any substance is overlooked automatically because of all the pablum from everyone else.

Perhaps that is how your friends rock Twitter. With my particular group, it's sort of a constant ongoing party full of jokes and insults and geekery, and it's also an easy way to plan a lunch or get rid of a concert ticket or something. We basically use it as part mass-informational-text and part Oh Good We Only Have To Say This Funny Thing Once Because I Probably Would Have Told The Same Thing To These Seventeen People Anyways.

I don't know. I hated it but now it's fun. :)

I don't know what to say either. I've been feeling LJ posting apathy too, but not because of twitter. I can say that I do miss you Louise, and I hope you don't disappear from LJ completely.
