Comic Con was awesome.

Hopefully I will post more about it later, with photos and everything, before it all becomes a vague and brilliant blur. But just in case I don't, know that it was awesome, and:

I got to geek out over Battlestar Galactica with Phil Lamarr, and meet Zachary Quinto in our hotel lobby and Lena Headey at the Wrath Of Con party. I am the Jack Bauer of sneaking into parties, FYI. And Lena's eyes are definitely not regulation eyes. She got some kind of replicant upgrade to have eyes like that. I think they were purple and there were possibly thousands of them. Zachary Quinto and Gareth David-Lloyd are tied for the second-best eyes I looked into all weekend, but they didn't bewitch me with their devilry like Lena's. (Well, maybe a bit.)

I saw All Along The Watchtower performed live by Bear and Brendan McCreary and Co. and it sounded like the whole world beginning. And the night ended with Raya singing Lords Of Kobol, and there are no words to explain how epic that whole evening was.

And the panels I did get into were fantastic, especially the Doctor Who and Torchwood and BSG ones, and also I would watch the Grant Morrison + Stan Lee Show every day if I could, and I really hope Dollhouse rocks and stays on the air.

Melissa and I didn't get into the Watchmen panel. Let us not speak of that. But I did get photos of Nite Owl's ship and Rorschach's mask and things, and all the Watchmen folks were at the Hard Rock with us anyway, a hotel which makes you feel like a rock star by inconveniencing you. In March I will be kicking myself for not wandering over and pestering those guys, especially Patrick Wilson since I ran into him a dozen times, and JDM because I will probably end up loving him as much as I hate the Comedian.

And I spent lots of money at the BBC booth so that they will come back forever, and the Browncoat tables looked amazing, and I solved a viral marketing thingy all by myself, but only because it involved pop-culture knowledge and not puzzle-solving knowledge, and there were some amazing steampunk costumes wandering around, and I scored some great TPBs on the last day for five bucks each, and successfully avoided individuals I didn't want to speak to.

I got scads of free stuff and also free drinks and stayed out way too late every night. I love hanging out with all my friends and the Dark Horse guys on the Hilton terrace, and even though it's an overcrowded and frustratingly scheduled madhouse, I will always love Comic Con.

Hrm. Actually, that may be all the recap one needs. Photos still forthcoming, though.

Came back to work to a serious lack of situations where people know what the hell I'm talking about, but no serious post-con depression.

Going to Friday Night Waltz tonight and the Silicon Gulch meetup tomorrow. I have new dance flats to break in, and excess swag to unload.

How can it only be 9:30 in the morning?
