Going through stuff. Found a CD labeled 'Serenity Premiere Mix 9/05'. The CD I made for the bus down to the premiere.
I popped it in the player. The first track was the Firefly theme song, and man, I guess I haven't really heard it in a while. Just listened to it. Just stood there, and listened to it, and the sun is going down and there's a cool breeze coming in through the screen and my stuff is everywhere and my life is a mess, I'm moving yet again, and my life is changing yet again. Love didn't work out the way I thought it would, again. But I know I'm going to be fine. Because I have you.
I heard that twang and that spaceship whoosh and Sonny's voice and it all came back, that there was a time before, when this was all new to me and it was a mad dream of instant friends and singular experiences.
And then it never really stopped, did it? And maybe it doesn't have to, not ever.
The eloquence just isn't coming tonight, but it meant something to hear that song right now. A renewal.
I just wanted to share that with you all. I now return to my regularly scheduled sorting, packing, and throwing away stuff.
