re: perseids
Well, I suppose it is a work night. Since nobody seems to be interested, I'm going to head to the park down the road around 10pm with a blanket and some tea and maybe some Smirnoff.
There are streetlights around, but I think I'll able to see a fair amount from the middle of the park. In fact, I saw the most beautiful meteor of my life about a month ago from that same park. It was this gorgeous earthgrazing streak of light that went on long enough for me to say, 'Oh my god look at that!' and for Cash to then turn around and see the end of it. It left a faint trace in the sky.
Anyway. I'm excited. Have I mentioned this is my very favorite meteor shower?
Today I walked. A lot. Went to Lee's and picked up Batman: Gotham By Gaslight, the first book of Transmetropolitan, and some top loaders for these Heroes trading cards from Comic Con. Went to the mall and got some little presents for people. Went to the pet shop and fell in love with a little green tree frog. Oh my god. This guy was the best thing I've ever seen. He had personality, man. But I've never owned a reptile and I don't want to start until I have the money and the knowledge to care for one properly. So I just walked out with food for Ghanima.
Also, today I discovered both a mailbox and a pet supply store closer than the ones I already knew about. So that will make life easier.
Right now I'm doing a few loads of laundry. My foot is on the cat. She likes to sleep on this woolen cloak I threw under my desk at some point, so at least 30% of the time, my foot is on the cat or the cat is on my foot. I just thought you should be aware.
Right. I guess I'll read some comics and make some dinner.
