Okay kids. As aforementioned: party at my place.
The Post-Punk Crappy Apartment Party
Where: 531 Woodside Road, Redwood City (EDIT:: It's #103, on the floor above the parking garage. However, in general you have to call my cell phone and somebody will come down and let you in. The door buzzer doesn't work for me.)
When: Friday June 29, 7pm-ish to whenever
Why & What: Because I have lived in this apartment for more than a year and June 30 is my last day in official residence. I've given notice and I'm movin' on out.
Because there have been many good times here.
Because I don't know how much of my stuff will be left in here by then, and if it's just a lamp, some crates, a TV, alcohol and holes in the walls, the logical background films for this occasion will be of the Trainspotting/Sid And Nancy sort. I intend to go out like the detritus of society.
Dress like riff-raff. Hell, dress like Riff-Raff. Bust out your old leather jacket and Docs, jeans with holes, irritatingly obscure band shirts. Come as Iggy Pop. Come as The Warriors. Come as the Road Warrior. Come as Sick Boy. Bring roller skates. Glam up Velvet Goldmine style. Mods and rockers. Quadrophenia. It is time to, in general, rock the fuck out.
(Dressing up is certainly not required. But you know you want to.)
Because I want to bid farewell to my neighbors properly, you see. I want to let them know how much I've enjoyed all their inexplicable and untimely noises, their uncontrolled children, the way they lock their dogs out on the terraces, the smells in the elevator and the general disregard for common courtesy I've witnessed in my time here. I want you to help me tell them just how much I will miss their entire anvil-rolling, pogo-sticking, wall-demolishing, sub-woofering subspecies.
Bring: Your lovely selves, if I like you. Your lovely friends, if you think we'll like them. And something to share, if you can. I will have beer and chips and basics, but "Who brought the organic hummus/bundt cake/chocolate bacon?" is always more fun.
RSVP: If you are planning to attend, bring guests, bring anything, please let me know. Either comment here or e-mail me at louise.ducray@gmail.com
Bring the noise.
