Slight change of plans.
I will no longer be futzing around as a Transylvanian at the Rocky Horror Picture Show at
Tales Of Anime tonight - though it was a prospect I was looking forward to, don't get me wrong.
Instead, Miss Violet O'Hara will be making her debut as Magenta. \=/
I finally get to play Magenta.
I didn't want to tell you guys about it earlier in case it fell through and they wouldn't need me, and Grant didn't want to tell me until he was sure they needed me, so this is all very last minute. Last minute as in, I didn't know what role I would be playing until last night.
I've seen the show a thousand times. I basically know it. I went and got a feather duster and a mop at the dollar store, and new fire-apple-red lipstick at the drugstore. I've had her domestic costume for years, I have a black robe that will work for Toucha Toucha and we have a silly Easter thing planned for Takeover so I won't feel silly without a spacesuit. I'll have the film on while I'm getting ready to refresh my memory, but other than that, I mean. No audition. No rehearsal. Hopefully some time before the show to figure out blocking and things, but I'm pretty much being allowed to get up there, have a good time and do my best. More things should be like that.
And hey, one day's notice? If/when I screw up, the only person that will be able to get legitimately annoyed at me will be my own inner perfectionist. (She may chastise me for having way too much fun at Casey's last night when I really ought to have been home getting all this done.)
Okay! Time for showering and teasing hair and trademark lips and digging out costume pieces from the closet and then packing up props and heading up to San Mateo.
Dude. Don't dream it. Be it.
