geekgasm part deux
First Veronica quotes Rocky Horror, and now this episode? It's karaoke night at Java The Hut and dude is singing Elvis Costello. Elvis. The song is kind of obvious, but come on. This show, like. Knows me. It's been listening through keyholes and peering in at windows.
I couldn't decide whether to use a VM icon or an Elvis icon so I'm just going to use this one because. Just because. And also because mmmm. Candy.
Hung around Lee's Comics and the adjacent Chinese restaurant pretty much all yester-evening. I wish I had a lightsaber. But don't we all?
Not much earth-shattering to post lately. Just been working, reading and watching Veronica Mars. Work is going really well, as I happen to be awesome at what I do and my coworkers are great. (I do miss the video store. I very much do, but it's a different thing and it was never going to last.) One of them is even cute, but alas. He works in one of our other offices and I probably won't see him enough to establish anything other than 'Hi! I'm the bubbly receptionist who always seems inordinately happy to see you! Ask me why!'
I'm all caught up on Y: The Last Man except for the new issue which came out today. I read the trade of Wanted last night in one go, and though I liked it to begin with, by the end I didn't like it anymore. It's somewhat clever but ultimately misogynistic crap. Interestingly, I've also been reading Four Blondes by Candace Bushnell. I picked it up at the thrift store and it's uber-addicting trashy chick lit.
My allergies have been acting up. Today I learned to not take allergy medicine in the morning; when you're already tired, you may as well be on quaaludes and data entry is next to impossible. Make that plain old impossible. I actually went downstairs and got some caffeine pills and took one and then I felt like Sarah Goldfarb and worried that the appliances might start taunting me.
And now, back to the couch and your regularly scheduled 'talking back to the television because your roommate is up in the city at a Pirate Party'.
PS: Last night I dreamt I was watching the sequel to Serenity and Wash showed up and it took us all completely by surprise, like that would ever happen, and also he was a robot and it was upsetting like that one fanfic I refused to read.
