I am so full of love right now.
Done The Impossible screened, and it was fantastic. The room was full of laughter and even some tears. So many of us are in it, there were cheers the first time anybody appeared. I'm actually in it quite a bit, and through the miracle of editing I sound like coherent thoughts come out of my mouth all the time. I'm in love with all of us, and with Jeremy, Brian, Jared and Tony.
The booth was gorgeous and always surrounded. Universal sent us promo DVDs for Slither as well as Promo Gummi Slugs, and we had the usual fliers and pretties to sell. There was a wonderful energy the whole time. I love how we are identified to others. Walking a little ways away from the booth I heard a girl say to her friend, 'Oh, these guys are awesome.' One of the action figure guys told us we were the best group of fans he'd seen since the seventies. Love, love love.
I signed an autograph. o_0 A real one, not just the fake one
lexigeek asked for. That was odd, but I guess I love it too.
I love that right after the Done The Impossible screening, three people made a beeline for me because they recognized my face and wanted to know about this SF Browncoats group I'd mentioned. It certainly is interesting, people knowing who you are before you've met them.
I love that Timothy Zahn came by the booth. He's a total Browncoat and bought things for his whole family, including the Juggling Goslings. Timothy Zahn owns Juggling Goslings. I love that.
I got lots of nifty things. A Colonial Viper toy and a Kaylee parasol and a Rogue Squadron pin and a Wonder Woman shirt. I love them. Also, I called out to a cute guy wearing an Upright Citizens Brigade Jacket that I liked his jacket, and he called me over and gave me a copy of his book for free and asked me to e-mail him if I liked it and we talked about UCB. I love that.
The Masquerade was wonderful. I love costumes; they make me giddy. I love monsters and elves and giant bats and Twi'leks and mini Jedis and especially sexy older Jedis battling giant puppet General Greivouses. But my especial love went out to Spy Vs. Spy and a frozen Han Solo In Carbonite being chased by a tiny Mandalorian.
Somebody was selling original Mucha lithographs from the 1920s. They cost what I make in a year but I love that I even got to see them.
I love that the editor of Cinefantastique is hot and that he kept giving me free issues of the magazine.
Melissa bought a full Serenity trading card box and in it were the Wash Pieceworks and Alan Tudyk autograph card. She let me buy the auto card off her and we squeed about the fact that if it wasn't Nathan, at least it was Alan. Actually, we squeed over everything. We walked around in love with everything, squeeing and hugging and meeting new people and just being glad to be around like-minded folk. I love Melissa.
Adam's shirt designs were a hit and his poster auctioned off at an impressive price. He is so talented and I love him. I love Karla for being amazing and I love their kids. I want a beautiful family like that someday.
Everybody is such good people. Barring the occasional creepy vendor hitting on me and the few cranky out-of-work science fiction actors, everybody I spoke to this weekend was good people.
Jason Palmer remarked my Serenity print with a Wash drawing. I am in love with him and his wife Elena. They're adorable and his work is just so unbelievable.
I loved the end-of-Con photo giddiness that ensued in our aisle, when Melissa was taking a picture of me in my girly Wash outfit holding my newly-purchased Kaylee parasol, and a stormtrooper stopped and took a photo of me too like it was a photo op. Then he wanted a picture with Melissa and me. A motherfucking Stormtrooper. And then I took a photo with Ray and HIS parasol, and before that he'd gotten a photo with his parasol and Mal's pistol versus one of the 501st Legion and his lightsaber. Madness! And Melissa and I got a picture with Mr. Lobo of Cinema Insomnia, who dressed like a giant butterfly Saturday night but informed us he was not actually Mothra. I'm in love with Mr. Lobo.
Right now I am in love with everybody.
[One sad note: ZOMG BSG WTF]
:::listens to Saffron's Wedding Dance:::
And I am in love with this song.
....
I think that's it for now.
EDIT: re: icon: OMG glasses?!? [Thank you
