There have been three distinct stages over my holidays. The first was spent in Canberra, mainly cooking but also being with my parents and catching up with what friends I could - oh, and sweltering until Christmas day. I've already mentioned the food I cooked and will follow up more on that in Elysantskitchen sometime soon (really). Christmas we got packing boxes ( Read more... )

not quite what I was expecting in regards to your block, but if it fits, is within your price range and has what you want then yay!!

Glad to hear that you have reached a decision! Have fun with all the paperwork.

Wel, it's actually very narrow and allows us to keep most of the outdoor area that we have. It won't be sited directly facing the front, so that we can get more of a north facing aspect. Curious as to what you were expecting? There were lots of other ones we would have preferred, but they all came in outside our budget. :(

I don't think I was expecting double storey... but then you block is quite narrow at the front.

Keeping the existing outdoor area is always good :)

We looked at singel story and we could fit many of them on the block, but they really allowed very little variation in the aspect due to the shape of the block. Also, most of them seemed to have the main bedroom at the front. We want it at the back so that we're not so disturbed by our occasionally noisy neighbours.

makes sense! If you can have it at the back you might as well, also means you get to look out your bedroom window at the garden not the front of the house!
