Wise answer. My first thought was, how can one be in fannish circles and *not* have met anyone famous. One would have to disenfranchise all authors and actors from the category of famous leaving only Nobel Prize winners and a few politicians.

I'd say my conversation with Jamie Farr which occurred at an antique show about 10 years ago was about the most significant contact I've had with anyone famous.

A close second would be the two minute interaction with Jason Momoa who played Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis. His guard was down, really down, as he was heavily intoxicated. He approached me like a drunken kid in a candy shop and asked if I'd let him ride my Segway. I suggested that I probably would the following day when he's sober and then only outside. To put him on it while intoxicated inside a hotel would have made the news but if I want my picture in the paper I'd prefer to get there some other way.

Oh wait, I keep forgetting. At this point *I* am famous, and I often talk to myself. Imagine leaving myself out of such a lineup. I guess you can add me to your famous people you've met list.
