Found it!

I did do the book meme before:
http://eliskimo.livejournal.com/243764.html

It was presented a little differently last summer:
"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading,
4b) and put asteriks beside things you were forced to read at school and hated.

And my comments at the time? Read on:

1. The major failing of this meme is that it assumes that one finishes everything one starts to read and that one remembers even not so memorable books ...

2. So, why aren't A Separate Piece, Tom Sawyer, Pilgrim's Progress, A Wrinkle in Time, The Once and Future King, Farenheit 451, A Man for All Seasons, Frankenstein, The Scarlet Letter, The Time Machine or Little House on the Prairie on this list?

Back then I reckoned my total at: 27 complete reads and 11 partial or I-can't-remember reads.

Thank you, florentinescot for reassuring me that I was not just imagining it.

Oh, and apparently the number "6" in the meme was stolen (at some still yet undetermined point along the way) from a NEA study that said the average American only reads 6 books a year. Huh.

(and yes, I have gone back and tagged the entry now)

books, meme
