Harman's argument on the Welfare Bill that Labour can't afford to be the group that constantly say no also bewilders me (why do they think their constituents voted for them?!). If the Opposition won't oppose the government, why do they even exist?
This. And I quite liked her before... Now, however, I have zero understanding of what she's even doing in politics. What is WRONG with people?

Corbyn feels like a breath of fresh air, and I would be happy to see things shaken up. Whether that will return us to the years of Kinnock passion vs Tory propaganda and keep Labour out for a decade, I can't say. But at least we'd have an Opposition.
I agree. Give people an actual alternative...

And if it was run by a stern voice mail message, it would be comparatively pro-active.

In Denmark, there was a politician who once suggested that they should scrap the army (it would save a lot of money) and - in case of an invasion - just have a recorded message that said: "We surrender".

Dunno why I thought of that...

Hit the nail on the head with this.

Only wish we had such wit and honesty in the open, public press (and the popular press) like this piece. Unfortunately, it is run by our own personal Tories, who are too busy selling the country out from under the people who elect them (stupidly) into their seats. This means (of course) a lot of hot air and ads about Depends with little news, much hysteria and radical racial slurs and rambling that is enough to make a sane, rational person cry.

Gods, where did we go wrong? Was it the 90s? It was the 90s, wasn't it...

Well, Frankie Boyle really is.. very out there. Seemingly fearless. (Look him up on youtube, you'll see.)

And hey, you've got Jon Stewart etc. They're there. Although maybe not in the press?
