Very intriguing start! I loved this verse, and you're adding to it in ways that make me very happy! There are very few things I love more that Spike and Angel snarking at each other. The jumping down from the cliff was nicely done!

It's chapter upon chapter of snarking & bonding. ('Because Cavemen Have Fire' grew out of this story, actually, as a what-could-have-been.)

You do? Now I'm curious, because it's not an idea I've seen anywhere else. (But then I've read sod-all AtS fic the last few... many years, so it's probably out there somewhere.)

Well this - and the next 13 chapters - were written waaaaaay back when. 2007/2008. I think. The problem is going to be recapturing the particular headspace...

I'm going to go back and read the prequel
It was one of my first ever fics, and I still sort of wince going back - it's OK, but if I ever had the time I'd edit it. It's mostly Spike/Buffy, but with a fair bit of set-up for this story.

It's LJs coding. If you center your cut it centres the text if you unfurl it on the page. And sometimes just goes... funny. So you weren't imagining things.
