Thank you for reading. ♥

(And I am physically incapable of not writing. This has been eating all my time for days and days.)

ETA: Also I can't really take credit for the beauty - I just write what I see...

Oh, you pull it all together so wonderfully. I'm still pretty torn up about the episode if I'm honest (my Ponds! no!) but seeing it laid out like this with so many parallels and ideas makes me feel better about it all.

Then my job here is done! ♥

(Oh Ponds. Oh beautiful, magnificent Ponds. I don't think it's really sunk in yet...)

I can't add anything vaguely intelligent, your meta is amazing. I just can say that I loved the episode and I still love the Ponds, all of them, and personally the moment that broke me was when Eleven asked River to travel with him. ALL MY FEELS!!1! (You know, I blame mostly Matt and Alex and their eyes full of emotions!)
Eros more correct translation from the ancient greek is not romantic love, which is something the greeks didn't have, but it's more like ... sex, passion. Really, it's something physical, a real psychopath who always wins!
Sappho would love the Moff! :D

OH HIS FACE! (And her face too...) When we re-watched it on Sunday at my in-laws, my father-n-law happened to come in right at the end, took one look at Eleven's forlorn face and said (he never takes anything seriously): "Is he sick?" Except for once, he got it perfectly right... Oh Doctor.

Thank you - ancient Greek is not my forte. Have edited the post. :)

This cast is amazing! Matt Smith is the most beautiful Doctor, at least for me. When I watched my first episode of DW everybody was mourning Tennant(I started DW very recently) and I kinda get it, but when I saw Matt Smith all wet and raggedy ... that's when I fell in love with the Doctor! Matt Smith is MY Doctor and I love him.
Alex Kingston is also incredible. When she was talking to the Doctor, when she promised to travel with him, I really felt her tenderness and love.

Thank you - ancient Greek is not my forte. Have edited the post. :)
I'm sorry! It's just that I remember all this stuff from high school and I was always fascinated by ancient greek culture.
Eros is a "bittersweet invincible creature".

Ps: great icon! DAT KISS!

It's strange, because during Ten's run I ADORED him, and he was totally my Doctor... Except then Eleven turned up. And I realised that Ten was Ten (and wonderful in his own broken way), but Eleven was the Doctor.

Mmmmm. They're just incredible together. ♥

Thank YOU for your brilliant response! \o/

That awkward moment, when Steven Moffat just says something, that has been discussed in meta-threads and meta-posts for a while. He confirmes that we get it right. He confirmes, that he's done it right, so that we could get it.
IKR? It started (properly started, I mean - I always loved his episodes but they were too scattered to really dig into) way back in S5, with that last shot of Amy's wedding dress in the opening ep. And I knew that this meant that the seasons should end with a wedding, but I'd been a pupil of Joss and Rusty for too long to trust my instincts. When that came true, however, I knew Moffat could be read and understood. :)

I love how it's becoming more and more about the Doctor's identity. Two years ago we only speculated about mirroring and the Doctor's identity and had a hint about River knowing his name. A year ago we got "Doctor Who?" as the ultimate question and it was kind of a proof. And now the Doctor is being erased from ( ... )

There's been Angel/Monster dichotomy since "The Girl in the Fireplace". The Weeping Angels are literally both. And so is the Doctor.
Moffat's mirroring is crazy brilliant. (And I just remembered that the Doctor was a Fallen Angel in the Christmas Special. *ponders*)

Something that springs immediately to my mind is a piece of the lore that tends to be forgotten in paintings and cutesy teen romances: angels are scary as all hell. Seriously. The main difference between your proper old-school angel and a Lovecraftian horror is that an angel, unprovoked and in a pleasant mood, will tell you, "Fear not," and otherwise go out of its way not to send you gibbering for the hills. I think the parallels with the Doctor should be somewhat obvious.
