Here it is, finally. Well the very beginning anyway... Most of the timelines from the different canons fit together pretty perfectly, but there is one major inconsistency as well as the problem of how and why did Jack chose to become 'The Immortal'. This prologue attempts to weave all these things together in a way I hope you think works (behold, I

Squee!
Okay, I haven't seen ANY of the new Dr. Who nor Torchwood, but to me this is awesome on a stick.
Well you are missing out, but I am also reassured, because if this is comprehendable for a non-DW fan, then I've probably done my job pretty well, describing Jack. :)
I'm intrigued and I love this idea of the Immortal as an ex-con-man, soldier, lucky bum looking for his destiny. :D
A few basic things you ought to know about Jack: He's from the 51st century, he knows that he is fabulous and will shag anything that's gorgeous, and The Doctor helped set him on the 'path to redemption'. He left the Time Agency because they stole two years of his memories, and became a criminal instead. (There's more, but some of that will be filled in as the story progresses.) Oh and in 1892 he was shot in the heart - and then woke up...
So many pithy little lines! The handsome boy! The portrait!
This story is SO MUCH FUN! OK, so this part was a total pain, but the fun bits were still fun. :)
Eagerly looking forward to reading more!!!

And to our Jack finding out what the bleep is going on - I for one don't doubt he wrote the note to himself, and has travelled (or will travel) to the 15th Century to leave it for himself.
Oh good. I hoped that was obvious. (Time travel is fun!)
Woah... 15th Century Italy. OMG what an awesome time! *Squee*
I'm not sure I'll actually write that part, but you never know.
ETA: Forgot to mention that 'Jack' isn't his real name. He'd have no problems adopting another alias. (We don't know what his real name is.)

(But they're great shows, definitely. Doctor Who at times gets very fluffy/simplistic, and S1 of Torchwood is... patchy quality-wise, but when they're good they're *amazing*!)
