Update from the house of Plague (Day 123 Year 2)
Today has been... IDK, 29 degrees I think? It is too much. I am melted.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid tests positive for Covid
It comes as the UK recorded more than 50,000 daily cases for the second day running, days before almost all legal restrictions on social contact are lifted in England on Monday.
There were 54,674 cases - following 51,870 new cases on Friday - with 41 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.
The last time cases exceeded 50,000 was in mid-January.
Javid has obviously had both jabs, but you can still catch the virus! Please all my vaccinated friends, keep wearing your masks.

This was not what I was planning on posting, but then omg a new performance! I forgot that these things can now... happen.
Daily Dimash: Slavic Bazaar
Dimash's first 'big break' (before The Singer competition in 2017) was winning Slavic bazaar 2015 (six years ago), he was so young! Link goes to a video with all performances & has cc. He sang SOS as one of his songs and it's obviously the one that put him on the map immediately when he performed it on The Singer. He sang it again at Slavic Bazaar in 2018 in what is probably the definitive performance (and has performed it many other times obvs) and being able to track how much he has grown in those years in fascinating.
Anyway, I think last year the whole thing was shut down due to covid, but now they're back! This year Dimash is one of the judges, but he also performed on the opening night (last night).
Love is Like a Dream (I love this song so much, it's unreal. Even on what is clearly fancam it's incredible). And he is clearly just thrilled to be back performing live with an audience. And at the end all the Dears come along with armfuls of flowers. <3

After that he performed Be With Me, and just look at the whole set-up he's got going now with his background dancers (the show-ballet “Sensation”, apparently), the whole slickness of the performance, his confidence etc etc. He's come a long way in six years. ♥ Speaking of performing live, he ends up running into the audience and saying hello to everyone and it's both adorable even as I am SO WORRIED. Ye Gods I hope everyone is vaccinated! :O
