First day of new job is done, and it gets a \o/. Wonderful people, all across the board, including a boss who even makes sure to get one in the colors that match my walls when he helps me round up loose filing cabinets.
I didn't, however, have time to check LJ, and probably won't in the future until I figure out how to check it with my screen visible to anyone who walks by. Which means that I'll be getting to the responses to my last post, but it's not going to happen immediately.
That said, it means a lot that everyone who responded did. And I don't mean for it to sound like direct confrontation is the answer to everything, or that (as I said to
hossgal at one point) I am walking around a big ball of Offended. Just. Life is there, it's not always easy, but it hardly sucks, and you all are a great part of that last bit.
Shifting back to the wonder of a desk setup that puts my screen a heck of a lot more out in the open than I'm used to, I'm also going to be doing some general thinking about me and LJ. No matter what, I'm going to be spending no time on it during the day until I've settled in. Once I think I'm good, though...
I know that a bunch of you have faced this conundrum -- or haven't been able to access LJ due to site access controls -- and found workarounds, but having always had a space that's private enough to view my flist in peace, I've paid about as much attention to those posts as I have to the Rockies-Diamondbacks series. So, help? What did any of you figure out? Why do I seem to remember that RSS and/or Google featured prominently? Format=light ain't gonna do it, I can tell you that.
