i swear... evil people phone tree like mo-fo's. i can just imagine the kick-off phone call.
"okay - so we've let them have a quiet couple of days. tomorrow, branches 1-15 will call and complain, the day after, 16-30 will bitch about something completely useless and pointless..." it goes on. why are the stupid ones always so damn organized???
in related news... i got my first evil hate mail from a patient. yay me - i feel so accomplished now. like i've really earned my position at the front desk. and it really wasn't even a patient that sent it in. it was the middle aged daughter of a patient. apparently, it was all MY fault that this woman brought her mother in on the wrong day, you know, since she had made the appointment in the first place and made me reschedule it twice. so i very politely informed the lady that her mother's appointment was two days from then, and the woman proceeded to spend the next 15 minutes or so telling me that it was all my fault that she was there on the wrong day, that i must have mis-scheduled the appointment. *a little fyi on our computer system.. it may be ENTIRELY plausible that an appointment be accidentally scheduled or cancelled on a single day by pressing one wrong button, but to schedule, cancel, and then RESCHEDULE on a different day and time is nearly impossible. and when i say nearly impossible, i mean you'd have to have the IQ of a brick or possibly frozen yogurt to do it. i give myself more credit than that - thank you*
grrrr...... i don't hate all people. only those who are evil and/or stupid. i don't like dealing with troll-like behavior. people need to be able to suck it up and admit when they've made a mistake. don't always blame it on the girl at the front desk with the eyebrow ring... i know she's an easy target.
please leave comments and tell me about any fun stupid people you've come in contact with lately (numbats are welcome on my comment page) i'd love to hear about idiotic behavior in other parts of the state... you know, track regional differences and such.
on another note... boys - when you call your doctor's office on that day that maybe you're having a little problem with your man bits - please - DO NOT assume that every girl who might answer a phone is a nurse. believe me - it doesn't work that way. guys just really overshare about things like that. i've heard more nasty symptoms and problems dealing with men and their junk than i ever wanted to. men - keep it short and to the point, tact is the key when calling a dr.'s office. have pity on the women answering the phones. if and ONLY if she says she's a nurse may you indulge in full details.
