Gmail Just Needed Some Miralax, Apparently

Aug 14, 2013 11:46

I was sitting at my computer last night, trying to send a couple of pictures to a friend, and Gmail simply looked at me when I hit "Compose."  Finally, I tried reloading the whole page.

And out came about a hundred emails from the last two weeks or so that I had never received before.  Yet I'd been getting some emails every day.  It wasn't as though my whole account had been blocked.  Most of the ones that were held back were lower priority things, notices that someone had commented on something I posted on LJ, or a Facebook notification, things like that.

But I use two different computers pretty interchangeably, and none of these messages had appeared before.  I spent the rest of the evening going through them all, responding to some, deleting a lot, praying that nothing too important had slipped through the cracks (I missed a couple of screenings and a few coupon offers, as well as some friend requests that weren't as time sensitive, just made me look like kind of jerk for not responding sooner).  But where were all these emails?  What has been going on?  And how will I know if/when it happens again?  Anybody have any ideas?  Very mysterious.
