I love how totally conflicted Sawyer is, wanting to be there for Jack but really not having to face up to it, wanting to tell Margo exactly how it is and let her have it for how she treated Jack but then wanting to respect Jack's wishes and just behave himself, let things run smoothly, or as smoothly as they can. You can see how much he just wants to protect Jack, not have him go through what is clearly going to be quite an ordeal, but he realises he has to let Jack do it his way, there's only so much he can do to help.

I love him being so scared on the plane, and the fact that it's the first time he's flown since they got back, and that he's doing it for Jack, so cute. And the fact that he's so terrified but he still feels like he has to keep up the charade and then when he finally lets it go he makes Jack promise he's not going to tell anyone he had a moment of weakness, it's just too cute, like Jack's the only one who's allowed to see through his facade but he's not allowed to tell anyone. But boy did Jack come up with a fun way to distract him, and I love how he got away with it too, sweet-talking the stewardess, he's picking up Sawyer's bad habits.

I love how okay Marc was with Sawyer but how it still only did a certain amount to make him feel better. You could tell he was relieved that someone was on their side but at the same time you could see how uncomfortable he was, the way he couldn't make conversation and he wasn't sure what to say or how to act. The easy conversation between Jack and Marc was great though, so much like old friends catching up, it felt really natural.

Sawyer looking around Jack's childhood bedroom, that was such a cutsie moment, looking at all his achievements, obviously stuff Sawyer would never have been anywhere close getting, and the way he's all proud of Jack for having them. And the yearbook, too cute. But the fact that, despite everything he has, all the evidence of a rich and full high school experience, he never actually felt like he enjoyed any of it. I think that's so true of kids like him who have all the emphasise placed on achievement but they never get to have a real life, they never get to make mistakes, and making mistakes is such an important part of growing up.

Love the first time talk too, and the differences between them, but at the same time, they both kind of just did it for the hell of it, I think maybe Sawyer's just more open to that, or more blunt about it, not dressing it up as anything it wasn't.

And then having sex in Jack's childhood bed, another place that Sawyer has to claim for his own, has to steal away from Claudine and a time that Jack will obviously always remember, simply because it was his first.

And then Jack's mom just walking in like that, she's lucky she wasn't a little earlier. And Sawyer trying to behave himself but not being able to resist a couple of snarky comments. I love how she tries to stay in control by just giving him calm, matter-of-fact replies, not stooping to his level, but you can tell he's really getting to her. You can tell how much he really is trying to behave for Jack as well but he just can't resist a few digs, his way of fighting for Jack and protecting him, subtly telling her that she did wrong by him. He's such a sweetie really.

poor Sawyer...having to hold back with Margo on Jack's account. so hard for him to do. Margo is terrible. I wish I had given her a bit more depth, not made her so one-demensionally horrible, but I didn't really want to spend more time on her. (i'm terrible...)

sawyer on the plane...i just thought he'd be freaking and be so embarrassed to be freaking, but that it was a big sign of his trust in jack that he would let him see through it, that he would admit to Jack that he was totally scared.

glad that marc and jack seemed natural to you. it's hard to convey a friendship that has lasted so long, that they're so comfortable with each other. but i think marc would be someone who would be behind jack no matter what he chose to do with his life, who he chose to be with, because i think from the get go (when jack tried to stop those kids from beating him up) that jack has always been there for him.

this wasn't drawn from personal experience at all. *cough* nope. high school and fun have never been in the same sentence for me.

ha, if margo HAD walked in earlier...lol. i think she would've died. and sawyer is a total sweetie. i think of him like a tootsie roll pop. layers and layers of hard exterior but totally gooey in the middle. lol. ;)
