Cold Front

The temperatures in New York were rapidly dropping as November lagged on.  Gargoyles were reasonably comfortable to certain temperature extremes, but the last few nights were slowly starting to push it.  Especially with the winds and actual snowfall that was accumulating.

Still, the winds were strong enough for gliding and it was a nice enough night

"And stay awake." Her fine hair blew in the wind, but she reached up and pulled the hood of the vest over it. The fur around her face further broke the wind entering their small pocket of body heat.

She was still shivering a little, but she'd shivered worse.

"Don't... don't remember it being this cold before..."

Icy gave him a concerned look, one small hand going up to touch his face and body to see how cold he was.

Lex was definitely cold. The smallest of the non-children Gargoyles, even braced for harsh Scottish winters, he'd never had to deal with a blizzard like this before.

"We have to find a better place." She lifted her head and looked around as best she could through the white-out. "Do you know this neighborhood?"

Lex looked around, shielding his eyes with one hand. "I barely recognize the place. Don't even know if we can glide in this."

"We can climb," she pointed out calmly. "This roof is bare, but maybe another will have something better to shelter us."

Lex tried to peer through the snow and pointed to the nearest building; they'd just have to jump from the roof to climb the wall. "That one's taller..."

"Does that mean there will be something on it?" She squinted and looked up.

[elisas_clan]

"Might be... I don't remember."

[random_xtras]

"If you get much colder your fingers and toes will start getting sick." She forced herself to let go of him, shivering violently nearly at once. A glance up at the wall, a prayer for guidance, and she jumped and paused to look for him.

Lex jumped and grabbed onto the wall next to her, already moving to climb up.

The trip was uncomfortable to the point of pain, but at last they reached the roof, only to be nearly blown off the edge by the wind.

"Stay down!" called Icy, crawling forward with her belly to the rooftop.

Lex dropped into an all fours crouch, carefully making his way across.
