I worked until 11pm last night, and had to be back to work by 7am, this morning. I didn't get much sleep, but I didn't have to clock in late, so I suppose that's all that really matters.
and so far, this year, I've encountered a disgruntled handicapped person. his wife came in last night and asked if we had any handicapped accessible rooms with two beds. we don't. we also don't have the connecting room to a handicapped accessible room, like she wanted. but she went for two seperate rooms, so all was good.
this morning, her disgruntled hubby wheels himself down to the desk and says they'd like to stay another night... but they want one of the rooms comped, because we don't offer the kind of room that they needed. and, APPARENTLY, his wife tried to ask the girl that checked them in if that would be possible, but the girl obviously didn't get what they were saying. just for the record, that girl doesn't like being spoken about like she's not standing right there.
he also went on to say how motel6 always lets them do it, and I really wanted to let him know that we're a HILTON, not a disgusting motel6, and that we have many of those properties in town that we would be more than happy to reccommend them to.
the general manager agreed to comp a room, just this once, for the inconvenience. I don't really see how it's an inconvenience to them; they agreed to the terms at check in. but... whatever. now we're afraid they're going to try to come back and try to get that deal, again. and if I'm there... it ain't gonna happen. they know what kind of rooms we offer, if it's not what they want, they are more than welcome to stay somewhere else.
