Armistead Maupin is an American writer, best known for his Tales of the City series of novels, set in San Francisco. He is married to Christopher Turner, a website producer and photographer whom he saw on a dating website. He then "chased him down Castro Street, saying, 'Didn't I see you on Daddyhunt.com?’" Maupin and Turner were married in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on February 18, 2007, though Maupin says that they had called each other "husband" for two years prior.

Audre Lorde was a Caribbean-American writer and civil rights activist. In 1968 Lorde was writer-in-residence at Tougaloo College in Mississippi, where she met Frances Clayton, a professor of psychology, who was to be her romantic partner until 1989. From 1977 to 1978 Lorde had a brief affair with the sculptor and painter Mildred Thompson. Their affair ran its course during the time that Thompson lived in Washington, D.C. and was teaching at Howard University.

Barbara Gittings met her partner, Kay Tobin Lahusen in 1961 at a picnic in Rhode Island, and described how they began: "We hit it off, we started courting. I flew to Boston and got off the plane with a big bunch of flowers in my hand. I couldnt resist. I did not care what the world thought. I dropped the flowers, grabbed her and kissed her. That was not being done in 1961." Lahusen moved to Philadelphia to be with Gittings. Gittings and Lahusen were together for 46 years, until Gittings's death.

Christopher Sieber (born February 18, 1969 in St. Paul, Minnesota) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Kevin Burke in Two of a Kind starring Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen and Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical. While It's All Relative was being produced, Sieber came out as gay and said that he was happily partnered to actor and chef Kevin Burrows. They married on November 24, 2011, in New York City. Sieber is slated to join the Broadway company of Matilda the Musical.

Duane Michals (born February 18, 1932) is an American photographer. Michals's work makes innovative use of photo-sequences, often incorporating text to examine emotion and philosophy. Michals grew up in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in NYC. Michals has been in a relationship with his partner, architect and vice president of Gramercy Neighborhood Associates Frederick Gorree, since 1960. Though he has not been involved in gay civil rights, his photography has addressed gay themes.

Eva Dahlgren is a Swedish pop musician born 9 June 1960 in Umeå, Sweden. In 1996 Dahlgren made headlines in the Swedish press when she came out as a lesbian through her civil union with jewellery designer Efva Attling. In connection with the civil union, Dahlgren changed her surname to Dahlgren-Attling. Dahlgren was discovered by musician/producer Bruno Glenmark in 1978 after appearing on the TV show "Sveriges magasin" and her debut album Finns det nån som bryr sej om was released the same year.

Lt. Laurel Hester was a New Jersey police officer. Laurel Hester was a 23-year veteran of the Ocean County prosecutor's office when she was struck down by rapidly spreading lung cancer. Hester lived with and jointly owned a house with her registered domestic partner, Stacie Andree, who would not be able to afford mortgage payments upon Hester's death. On January 25, 2006 the freeholders extended pension benefits to registered domestic partners. Hester died on February 18, 2006.

Scott Norton (born February 18, 1982) is a left-handed American professional bowler and attorney. On May 19, 2011, Norton released a statement acknowledging that he is gay. "It is extremely important for me to come out to show other gay athletes, both current and future, that it is important to come out to show that we are just like everyone else. Being gay doesn't define who I am". Norton's spouse is Craig Woodward. The couple married on October 22, 2011 in Laguna Beach, California.

Tove Marika Jansson was a Swedish-speaking Finnish novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author. Briefly engaged in the 1940s to Atos Wirtanen, she later during her studies met her future life partner Tuulikki Pietilä. The two women collaborated on many works and projects, including a model of the Moominhouse, in collaboration with Pentti Eistola. This is now exhibited at the Moomin museum in Tampere. Jansson is best known as the author of the Moomin books for children.
