GayRomLit Ebook Giveaway: Erica Pike - A Life Without You

Apr 15, 2013 19:25

I asked to all the authors joining the GayRomLit convention in Atlanta in October (http://gayromlit.com/grl-authors) a personal favor, a special Ebook Giveaway: twice a week I will post 1 book from each author, and among those who will leave a comment, I will draw a winner. Very easy and very fast ;-) I will send a PM to the winner, so remember to not leave anonymous comments!

Today author is Erica Pike: I’m Erica Pike and I live in Iceland. Despite popular belief, I haven’t grown some second, cold-resistant skin after living in this country (nearly) my whole life. I get cold like everyone else! Wait, there’s more. We don’t live in igloos. We do have banks (even though they all went belly-up in 2008), and we don’t have a reindeer topping on our pizzas. Yes, these are myths and questions I’ve encountered at some point in my life. Anyway! I’ve been writing gay romances for two years, but I’ve only been published for one year. Despite that, I have a number of titles out. Why do I write gay romances? That’s a hard question to answer. It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing, but I did attempt to answer as one of the interviewees in Geoffrey Knight’s “Why Straight Women Love Gay Romance”. Right now I only have contemporary titles out, but I’m working on a ghost story (Icelanders are all about ghosts), and jolting down notes for a post-apocalyptic story. Then there’s that Viking story… Looks like I’ll be multi-genre in the future ˆ.ˆ I’m a single mother of two boys (twins, nearly 6 y.o.) and am happy being single. I’m a business undergrad, with a focus on marketing and managing. I wanted to work in advertising, but discovered after graduation that, in Iceland, there are almost never any positions open. That’s why I ended up working for the government in finance - a job so stifling creativity-vise that I needed an outlet. So I wrote books!

A Life Without You Boston Boys Series #1 Jesse's like a bar of soap: the tighter Adam holds on, the faster Jesse slips away. Or that's how it feels to Adam. It doesn't help that Jesse has a girlfriend back home and claims to be straight, but there's no way with all the sparks and physical intimacy flying between the two roommates. When Adam believes he has reached his ultimate happiness, the bedroom walls come crashing down with a visit from Jesse's girlfriend. Now Jesse has to decide if he can come to terms with his sexuality, while Adam has to learn to accept that Jesse might never be able to crawl out of the closet.
