new job description
Rob and Jessica came up with a new job title to describe us, of which I wholeheartedly approve: instead of "educators" or "teachers" we are now "struggling/starving artists." Because apparently it describes what we do better, and is much more interesting to introduce yourself as. Rob's speciality is poetry, which he declined to demonstrate, Jessica's is writing, "though I'm under-worked, because I don't make myself write enough." My speciality is, of course, painting.
Rob: Plus, we got a free dinner out of it [being struggling artitsts]!
Me: Oh?
Rob: Jess and I went to dinner with Bill (who's back in town from Budapest) at Mozaika. He said he was paying, and Jess said, "oh... I don't..." and I said, "I don't have a problem with that!"
Jessica: Then we pretended to be Rich Executives when Bill suggested that we all go to the Marriot, where he's staying in one of the Executive Suites, because the Executive Lounge had free desserts, internet, and satellite tv.
