Dexter
I finished reading Darkly Dreaming Dexter today, marking the end of my Dexter reading. Yes, I know it's the first book in the series, but I read them almost backwards (book 3, 4, 2 and then the first one).
I found it interesting how the TV series differed from the book. Having watched the series first, I think the writers did a fantastic job extending the plot in the first novel and developing a compelling story arc for the series. So much so, the book felt lacking in this respect, and seemed to end abruptly and without any character exploration of Brian. That said, I'm sure I would have thought differently had I read the book prior to watching the series.
C bought me Season 3 of Dexter on DVD for my b'day, after Channel 10 stuffed around with the timeslot, without advertising, resulting in us missing a couple of episodes. I'm really looking forward to watching it, whenever that may be. At the moment we are very slowly watching Season 5 of The Office and the first season of Breaking Bad. I do miss our DVD marathons, but sleep tends to take the priority these days!
