Still feeling pretty ick. Recovery is hard work! I am glad they gave me opiates for pain killin' though.
I'm planning on going to my parents' for Easter weekend, which is also just after my birthday. So Mom wants to make me a big fancy dinner. I'm tired of how effed Daniel's diet gets every time we go there, so I told her I want greek - should be lots of vegetarian options, right?
So I'm just trying to put together a menu and would love some help/suggestions. It's a big family and we're big eaters. I figure lemon roasted potatoes, spanakopita,
green bean casserole,
fried zucchini sticks, souvlaki, and of course tzatziki and hummus.
I don't usually love greek salad but my family might be picky and want it. I'd probably be happier with having the components on a dish for dipping in dip - pepper strips dipped in hummus is a favourite of mine. Daniel likes his dolmades so maybe we'll have to do that too.
And... as it turns out, I don't like baklava. Too sweet. Thinking of making
galaktoboureko instead.
Sounds like a lot of food but leftovers would be so great so when Daniel needs a bit of food the next couple of days, he can just grab something he already knows is fine from the fridge.
