Hey flist.
So I've been out of work now for nearly a month and it's depressing me. Like the serious kind of depressing me. I've got no motivation which of course means I'm not applying for jobs and blah it's all being crap. I didn't get the job I interviewed for 2 weeks ago (which was just call-centre customer service for a local cable company).
Luckily my BFF says her work will probably need someone soon so I just have to update that resume of mine and send it in. I hate writing the emails that go with these things. Bah.
Plus, once it's updated I can start emailing it out. Small steps, folks.
Seriously, once I'm back at work and being productive and leaving the house daily again, I know I'll feel 10x better, easily. Then my poor boy doesn't have to come home and find me in almost immediate tears. I'm just so lucky that he understands this nonsense.

So this past weekend we went over to Kelowna to visit my sister and her husband. We picked up a rental car on Friday and Daniel drove us out to Chilliwack, where we stopped for lunch and I took over driving. He's not a very comfortable driver and this is only made worse by the fact he hasn't driven very much in years. He did alright though and will hopefully be more comfortable when it comes to moving my things over.
I gotta say, both of our families worried much less knowing that I was driving us over the Coquihalla though. I'm comfy with the highway so IDGI though yeah I know it's not so much my/his driving that is being worried about, rather the other assholes on the road.
But whatever, driving was safe and uneventful and yay I fucking love driving. We had a little Cobalt and I took it up to 150 kph. Listened to the radio. Can someone tell me at what point Nevermind became classic rock? I just don't expect the classic rock station to play Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are. For that matter, I didn't expect them to play Tragically Hip's Courage.
Kathy had some curry spice package thing so we had pretty damn tasty veg curry with brown basmati rice for dinner. Her husband Dave ran to get us some naan and samosas to go with it. Friggin good dinner.
We played a couple of games after that -
A Ticket to Ride and
Coloretto. Fairly sure I didn't win anything but that's ok! The 4 of us had fun.
Then Kath pointed out that she had the full version of
Peggle on her laptop - I'd only ever played the web version before. Instant addiction. Daniel had a demo for it on his laptop and so after Kath and Dave went to bed, we sat down and played. Suddenly Daniel's got his credit card out and is paying for the full version, and next thing we know it's 3 fucking am.
Saturday was pretty lazy, but we checked out Kathy's Wii Fit and are jealous. Daniel's signed up for updates from Console Watch so that we can get it too. Played some Guitar Hero II (easily portable from our house to theirs) which Kathy and Dave hadn't played before. They picked it up alright and there was fun had.
Dinner was at some vegetarian place that Kathy likes and doesn't get to go to often (I am starting to think that Daniel is peoples' excuse to eat vegetarian - Campbell did the same thing when we were in Victoria - really wanted to go to the Lotus Pond and never could convince anybody else to go with him). It was really good food and we followed it up with dessert at DQ. Got home and were showing each other
silly YouTube videos. Somehow it got out that I'd never seen Star Wars (I keep being told that having seen Ep III doesn't count) so we sat down with popcorn and watched Ep IV. Yay I have Star Wars'd now!
Sunday was church, lunch out (at Perkins), and a little more Wii Fit before heading home. We encountered a little fog on the highway but nothing too terrible - I had to slow to 70 kph at one point, oh well. Switched drivers in Chilliwack again because my leg was tired of being in the same damn position, also Daniel knows the city way better, having lived in Vancouver for more than my total of ~12.5ish months. He's been here since.. um.. '03, I think? Yeah.
We were going to stop for dinner at this place in Surrey but found that it is closed "Due to unforeseen circumstances" - he had me all psyched for Italian though so we found one of their other locations in Burnaby. Good food, I was stuffed. Then we stopped at my place ("I'm turning on 23, right?" "Fuck no, I'm on 22. We've been dating for 4.5 months and you still don't know my address?" "... This is my second time being at your house.") and grabbed a ton of my clothes and some hangers and cds. Slowly this stuff is coming home.
Yeah, home. YAYS.
Mom's going to try and come down this weekend to help me move some of the larger things from my house to uh... my house. From the Dunbar house to where I currently live with my love. Should be interesting, and it really means that I have to go pack some shit so I know what's going to go back to Ashcroft with her too. I don't need my pots, much as I love them.
I need to dress and get to the produce market before they close, we are out of broccoli so hard.
