i wish that i had my copy of that book, so that i could read it, and take some comfort in the fact that perhaps my day is not as bad as alexander's. however, this week could provide him with some competition. the six papers have been joined by a test, and miserable grey and rainy weather. not to mention the fact that next week does not provide the much needed respite that one might hope, instead, papers are finished just in time for: you guessed it, FINALS!!!! following finals i will be doing preteaching (i.e. laminating and planning learning activities, not to mention visiting the teacher's lounge. i have always wondered how lamination happened and will no doubt be fascinated by the machine and it's wonders). judging from the faces of absolutely every person i walked past on campus today, excluding laurie mehaffey who i have decided is the happiest person in the world all the time (she is awesome), pretty much everyone is having almost as charming of a week as myself. what i like to do in situations such as this is make up an IMAGINARY week that would be much more to my liking and day dream about it when i have freetime, you know, like, on my way to the library or on my way to work or something. here is my imaginary week:
MONDAY: nine and ten o'clock classes cancelled, so get to sleep late and only go to civil war. then for lunch i go to roly poly with some of my favorites, and stop at the gas station on my way back since gas in my imaginary week is 10 cents a gallon. i buy a lottery ticket. then i am free all afternoon and evening to do whatever i like b/c no schoolwork is due anymore. so i play all day and night and read narnia books.
TUESDAY: watch a movie in american revolution with funny british people. nothing is due in diversity, we have a guest speaker who is very short-winded, and get let out at 1. i have no homework or work work, so i spend the rest of the day playing and reading my narnia books
WEDNESDAY: find out that dr.israel has taken ill and 9 o'clock history of al. class cancelled for the rest of the year. in micro, no one comes and rj exempts all present from the final as a reward. take a 3 hour nap in the afternoon, go to chapter which is short and get fun tshirts from the tshirt chair. dinner with favorites. play the rest of the night
THURSDAY: short AR class, get a plus paper back. nothing is due in diversity (a first) and kate gets tired of trying to work the overhead and lets us out early. i play and read narnia books for the rest of the day.
FRIDAY: due to dr. israel's absence, no alabama class. since am exempt from micro final, skip that crap. go to civil war b/c i heart dr. noe. get paper back with a plus on top. feel charitable and go play with my children at auburn daycare, teach one to read and his parents are so grateful they hug me and cry. take a nap. wake up, shower, get dressed in new clothes purchased w/ paycheck, check online to find out that i have won the lottery with the ticket purchased monday and now have $25 mil. take all favorites to dinner in atl to celebrate, have a grand time.
WEEKEND: sleep and play. absolutely no work or homework or anything. sit on couch all day sunday and read/watch football and then watch a disney movie sunday night. sleeping beauty.
That is my imaginary week. it is much more acceptable than el current week. someday my week will come...
until then i have to work on a paper about montgomery, the least interesting city in alabama.
