Name: Elijah Wood
Nicknames: Lij, Elwood
Date of Birth: Jan 28, 1981
Birthplace: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Height: 5’6” (well, that’s what it says on his resume, anyway)
Build: Slim and small, but not nearly as skinny as he used to be.
Hair Color: Black
Hairstyle: Full of product when he’s trying to look the part, with periodic bouts of head-shaving as a general fuck-you when he’s in a mood
Eye Color: Blue
Skin Tone: Pale
General Health: Good. Doesn’t get sick often, has an iron stomach.
Glasses/Contacts?: Alternates between both
Distinguishing Marks/Features: Tattoo on his lower right hip, a small blue chinese luck dragon. It hasn't brought him much luck, unless you count the fact that women seem to like it.
What does this character consider his best feature?: Chicks seem to like the eyes, but he gets sick of that pretty quick. Looks are everything in this town, and he’s pretty happy with what he sees. He gets laid, so he must be hot enough, right?
What is the first thing one notices about this character? Many notice the eyes first, but others notice the way he stands, half self-conscious and half cocky, squinting over the cigarette in the corner of his mouth.
BACKGROUND
Marital Status: Never been married.
Relationships: None serious. Dated a few starlets as a teen, mostly sticks to casual sex now. Prefers aggressive women with real brains and real breasts.
Orientation: Straight, and never given it much thought.
Family: Mom Debbie and brother Zach moved back to Iowa when Elijah was 19. Sister Hannah stayed with him and works in a record shop in Hollywood. She’s his best friend.
Religious Upbringing: Catholic
Current Practice: eh
Education: Tutors all his life, the main one being his mother. Never had friends his own age. Likes art and film, rarely finishes books. Considers himself intelligent but not terribly educated.
Income: Royalties and residuals from his films and TV show, supplemented by the occasional DJ gig and one or two modeling shoots. Refuses to do commercials. He’s alright, but the supply is dwindling.
Housing: A small apartment in Hollywood, much less nice than the one he shared with his family during his childhood.
PERSONALITY
Favorite Foods/Drinks: Thai takeout, bad pizza, sushi, beer, black coffee, vodka cranberries
Smoker?: Oh yes. Djarum Blacks are his poison of choice, but he'll smoke most anything.
Vehicle: 2000 Volkswagen GTI, black
Bad Habits: Fidgeting, nail-biting, sleeping too much or too little, overly sarcastic at times
Good Habits: Cluttery but clean, tries to stay relatively healthy despite his many vices
Personality Flaws: Cynical, doesn’t trust people, hides insecurities with false bravado
Personality Strengths: Hard-working, easygoing with friends, likeable, intelligent, funny
Current Plans: To be famous again. No matter what it takes.
Fears: Rejection, failure, obscurity
Talents: He really is a good actor. Pretty good DJ too. Has a knack for trivia and geeky things. Movie buff. Physically well-coordinated and flexible. Can tie knot in cherry stem with tongue. :D
Notes:
Elijah Wood was a child star, debuting at 4 and receiving good reviews for a string of films in his youth. At the age of 9 he took the lead role in a family TV series called Timmy and Me, a syrupy-sweet Lassie ripoff that lasted for 5 seasons. But when Elijah's voice cracked, so did his star. His show was canceled, and he found that he couldn't shake the apple-pie image of little Timmy Anderson. He had some roles in various teen movies, and a couple of music videos, but eventually those petered out as well. His fame left as completely as it had come, but he remained determined to revive his career. His family went back to Iowa, but he stayed and faced rejection after rejection.
His agent does what she can, but Elijah flatly refuses to do commercials or join the game-show, where-are-they-now circuit. He is 23 now, and his money is running out. It's time to make a decision. He's going to be a star again, on his own terms, as far away from Timmy fucking Anderson as he can get. He's going to make himself famous again. Someone has to be willing to forget who he was and see who he is. He’s got to get into the spotlight again. Any spotlight.
