▪ The premise sounds really familiar. Hasn't this been done before?
Yes, it has. The game was modeled after
desmarais_main. We are not the mods of said game, nor do we want credit for the game idea. Frankly, we do owe in large to the mods of Desmarais because if it weren't for them, this game would not have taken root. However, we would like to assert that although the idea is borrowed, our content is entirely different and our own -- of course, save for the references mentioned in our
disclaimer!
▪ Wait a minute. Wasn't this an AU game before? Why the change?
eligere_consors did indeed start off as an AU game. As of March 25th 2011, however, it was decided to re-invent it as a PB game before its re-opening. The reason behind the change is simply that there's more room for creativity in comparison, foreseeing better growth for both muses and the game itself.
▪ Do I really have to read everything on the website?
Not all at once, no. We do realise there's an abundance of information and detail that no one would be able to read in one sitting or even before sending in holds or applications. What we advise you to do is simply treat the website as a reference source instead of a need-to-know material. You don't have to memorise or know everything right from the start, but go back to it as and when is necessary.
▪ What does lineage mean when vampires cannot reproduce? How does my vampire student get 'sorted'?
In this universe, lineage simply refers to the vampire who sired your muse. For example, if Avellino herself sired Vampire A, who then went on to sire B, who sired C and so on, that will be Avellino's lineage and newborns sired under this line will be sorted into said house.
▪ If my muse was abducted or sired at age 25 when most humans have finished school, do they still have to go through ten years of study?
Yes. Remember, the subjects taught in Eligere Consors are not the ones routinely taught in normal schools. The hours and courseload are also significantly lighter than what they would have been used to, so don't think of this game as strictly school-based!
▪ How late can my vampire student muse enrol, or are they automatically sent to Eligere Consors after being sired?
Campus security are always on patrol (plainclothed and inconspicuous) for the vagrant newborn, but not everyone ends up in Eligere Consors right after being sired, especially if their sire is not a rogue vampire and stays with them. The latest a student can enrol after being turned is 3 years.
▪ Can my girl student muse wear pants instead of the skirt?
Yes she certainly can! Female students are allowed to opt out of skirts for dress slacks of the same colour. (And if male students want to ponce in skirts, go right ahead even if it's highly unadvisable!) Keep in mind, however, that while uniforms are supplied to each new student by the school, any modifications or additions will not be sponsored.
▪ What happens when a human gets abducted and how do they end up in Eligere Consors?
Typically, hired snatchers have been given territories all over the world in which they roam and stake out. Those between the ages 15 to 25 and are in perfect physical and mental health are closely observed -- the good-looking ones with talents in various areas are targeted and subsequently abducted. These humans are then checked over by Eligere personnel (those who do not make this final cut are sold off in the underground pet market) before being sent on to the nearest campus. They are given standard issue clothes (including uniforms) and neccessities to tide them over until they are selected.
▪ As the mun of a pet muse, do I get any say in who my muse ends up serving?
Certainly! While pets themselves have no option of saying no, it is ultimately up to their muns whether or not to accept requests. We will not be pairing any muses off, unless you wish for us to do so on your behalf.
▪ What happens when students finish their ten years of study?
Day Class students (pets) will have the choice of staying on campus as house pet or staff, or opt to be sent into early retirement to an
Abeo Portus island where they will live out the rest of their lives.
Night Class students (vampires) will be free to do as they please in the outside world. Should they wish to return as a staff, they can only do so after 'living' 100 years as vampires.
▪ Is it possible for vampires to claim pets of different age/seniority groups?
Yes. We do not restrict pet claiming, so even if you have a First Year Night Class student, they can certainly request for a Tenth Year Day Class pet if it strikes their fancy and vice versa. Should this example occur where the pet will graduate before their master, the pet will be required to stay on for as long as their master needs them and will be offered the choices mentioned in the question above once the vampire in question graduates.
▪ How is the ranking system among students?
In terms of social class, Night Class students make up for the top half, and seniority in school years is something most, if not all students take note of. The second half consists of Day Class students, with unclaimed pets at the very bottom.
▪ What is the general perception of humans (both pets and civillians) for vampires?
This is a conflicting topic. While Night Class students are being taught how to mix and blend into human society aka behaving like humans = Good and Noble, they're also told in not so many words that their pets are there to serve their purposes and nothing more. How they treat their pets is up to them as long as a) they don't sire their pets and b) they don't kill or inflict any form of permanent damage on their pets.
▪ Who are the NPCs in the game?
Currently, there are three categories of NPCs: Headmaster and Heads of Houses, miscellaneous staff and students (of course, this changes with each muse application), and House pets. The latter consists of pets who have graduated from Year 10 but are either under 35 (unsuitable for staff position) or unwilling to retire to Abeo Portus just yet.
▪ Are there any rules against Staff/Student interactions that go beyond the staff's jobscope?
Absolutely not! Remember, this is not a literal school where human ethics and laws must be upheld. Eligere Consors campuses are run by the Vampire Council of each country and therefore, no laws exist restricting Staff/Student relationships of any kind.
▪ Are vampire staff allowed to claim Day Class students or fellow human staff as their pets and vice versa?
Yes, indeed. However, keep in mind the following points:▫ If a vampire staff claims a Day Class student, the student must stay in their master's suite.
▫ If a vampire staff claims a human staff, the latter has the right to choose whether to move into their master's suite or stay in their own.
▫ If a Night Class student claims a human staff, however, the staff does not move in with the student and will continue living in their staff quarters.
▫ Generally, the majority of vampires (both student and staff) in all campuses prefer to own Day Class students as pets for convenience, and this is the widely-accepted norm.
▪ What are the restrictions for internet/cellphone usage?▫ In terms of cellphone regulations, each person within the campus, be they staff or student, vampire or pet, will each be given numbers and it is their own choice whether or not to use them. Service is free for all, however, the range does not reach beyond campus boundaries for the obvious reason of restricting contact with the outside world for the humans. Vampires may choose to use an external number and service, but this will be strictly regulated to prevent possible thievery attempts from humans.
▫As for internet usage, pets are only allowed access in the computer library. They are able to send and receive any form of online information within the campus, but are only able to receive information from beyond the campus boundaries. What this basically means, is that they can surf the internet without any problem, but anything they try to send outside of the campus intranet gets blocked.
▪ Do vampires have heartbeats?
To make it just a tad more realistic (and keeping in tune with this universe), vampires generally do not have heartbeats unless they have just fed (blood only, not human food). Like all effects set in motion by drinking blood, a vampire's heartbeat will be simulated between a few hours to a full day depending on blood intake.
