So this past Friday I decided I needed a new do. I went (with Seth) to the only place I know of near me. I've been there twice before. The first time was to get my hair straightened a few months after Aaron was born. The woman, Bobbie, who did my hair did a HORRIBLE job. I actually had to go back a few days later to get it done again since it was still curly! Not only that, she kept saying over and over how I needed to color my hair (gee, thanks for making me feel good about my gray) and when I asked her not to style it since I like to leave with my hair looking like it will when I do it, she said she HAD to style it and that I HAD to do it at home as well. I thought those comments were odd but I sort of blew them off as maybe I misunderstood her or something. The second time I had a woman named Fara (I remember since that's my middle name.. shhh, don't tell anyone! LOL). She did a GREAT job and cut it exactly how I asked.
So 3 days ago I go with Seth as a walk in (I know I should have made an appt!). We had to wait about 1/2 hour and low and behold, I get Bobbie. I figured I'd give her another chance, I mean it's not like she was doing anything chemical to my hair this time. I told her I wanted wispy bangs, long layers and a face frame starting from about my chin or so. So repeated it all back to me before she washed my hair so I know she heard me. She mentioned my color again (gee, thanks) and again told me I HAD to style my hair and she HAD to dry and style it. WTF???? I asked her if she really insisted on drying it to please not style it with a brush but to please use her fingers so it'll look more like it air dried.
I was busy keeping an eye on Seth so I didn't notice her styling my hair until she was practically done. Because of that, I didn't notice until I got home (and more so the next day) how she RUINED my hair!! Long layers my ass!! The layers in the back are so freaking short!! They are shorter than the choppy face frame she gave me!!! When my hair air dries, the top is so poufy I can't wear it down and it's almost too short to pull back. The very back still has some length so my hair isn't totally short, but I'm still pissed off and very upset!
So I called the place today. I spoke with the desk manager (the floor manager isn't there today). I told her what happened last time and this time with Bobbie. I also said when Bobbie had to redo the straightening last time and I was told it would be free, she styled it (again after I asked her not to) and she charged me for that! The woman I spoke with agreed Bobbie never should have made those comments about the color or me HAVING to style it. I'm supposed to leave the salon feeling gorgeous, she said, and I agree!! She's going to talk to the floor manager when he calls today (he's off) and I have an appt with him on Wednesday morning. I don't know how much he can fix it since it's so short in the back, but maybe he can smooth out the parts that are choppy. I'm also hoping to get my $$ back!!
I put some of Scott's hair gel in today after my shower and that seemed to help with the poufiness, so I feel a bit better about that, and I dyed it this morning as well.
