Our drummer Chad has auditioned for Himsa, and he nailed the audition! Andrew and I are really excited and happy for him. Himsa is my favorite band here in the Northwest, so I wished the best for them in their auditions for a new drummer, and I believe they have the best man for the job now. Chad is excellent and the greatest guy to be in a band with. Elienai welcomed him back when we needed a drummer because he was always such a great friend. Chad didn't just come back as our good friend that we missed for 2 years, but he came back with a new attitude toward being in a band, willing to grow as a drummer, challenging his skills, and always taking criticism as an opportunity try harder rather than give up.
So the Official word is, we don't have any plans to comeback. Elienai may remain a studio project or a once a year performance, but we will not be putting any serious efforts into playing live anymore. Andrew and I are exhausted and have a long list of alumni to list and thank as our fellow band mates, who have contributed in this effort to bring back metal in the Portland scene. Neither of us are content with the lack of musicians who love metal here in Portland/Vancouver, not playing metal, so I am sure there may be another metal band in the works someday.
We are currently in process of writing different music in our many favored genres such as: pop-rock, emo, acoustic rock, and metal, but nothing is certain as to what direction we (Andrew and I) will take from this point. I would like to keep playing live and helping bands develope their music, so keep me in mind if you are looking for a guitar or bass player, or if you would like me to assist in Production or Engineering of your recording projects. Also, Andrew is lined up to record 2-3 bands at his studio. He is in the process of remodeling his studio at his new location in Vancouver and he is always interested in recording local bands, so tell either one of us if you are interested in recording.
Thanks to our friends, fans, alumni, and the many great bands we played with.
