Independence Day
Today I got hired as an independent contractor and I start the contract on Monday. I was hoping not to have to do this (I never wanted to fill out a 1099) but at this point I have to compromise a little. Another unfortunate point is that is far enough away where I am forced to drive. This might turn to chaos around the time Gabriella is born, but for now I'm going to deal with it.
On the bright side, I am technically self-employed so no more having an asshole boss. This, of course, is a matter of opinion. ;) Also, I'm tired of going through technical tests and phone interviews. A 4-month break from that business is most welcome. Now I can focus on the really important things for the next few days.

Mostly I've been taking care of dyta93 who has been a sickie since Monday.
