Gas duster (also erroneously referred to as canned air) is a product consisting of liquified difluoroethane, trifluoroethane, or tetrafluoroethane in a spray can, with a long nozzle that enables the user to direct a precisely focused blast of gas.
I needed to get a can of this stuff to clean out the annoying SD card slot on the computer and found that it is not as readily available as it used to be. The grocery store and drug store no longer carry these gas dusters, we had to drive to a Staples (not very close by) to get a can of this.
At the register, the lady asked me if I was older than 18 and laughed. I said yes with a confused look on my face. Since it was busy in there we just left without further inquiry. I turned to
dyta93 and asked her if she knew what that was all about. Was the cashier flirting with me or is this a controlled substance? She had no idea.
If you read the end of the Wikipedia entry it explains that people are inhaling/huffing this.
What is wrong with people!?!
This might sound harsh, but if you are inhaling whatever you can get your hands on, you deserve what happens to you.
